Our Story

Fraser’s floats is a family business built on the lore of our Scottish ancestry when Magnus Irvine of Shetland married the niece of “the red fox” Catherine Fraser. Fraser, from the French word for strawberry, and a clan known to the Scots as a formidable family, holds the motto of “Je Suis Pret” (I am ready). Irvine carries the family motto of “Sub Sol Sub Umbra Virens,” (Flourishing both in sunshine and in shade). Magnus flourished for 100 years (1818-1918) and had seven children. His great-granddaughter, Eunice Irvine, began the family’s concessions business, selling floats at fairs and events in the mid-1900s to feed her family of 10. Eunice’s granddaughter and third generation in the concession world, Vicki Irvine Volkman, has thoughtfully built her concession businesses, Fraser’s Floats and St. Petersburg Shortcake, with a nod to family, fun, and food.
Fraser Floats has three core values: Be Authentic, Serve Everyone a Little Sunshine, and Leave as Little Waste as Possible.
